There are many big and small rivers , green forests, high mountains, lakes in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is home to a vast collection of animals and plants. Our Earth is our home. We must take care of our Motherland. But the environment of Kazakhstan is in danger. The soil, the air, the rivers are polluted. The animals are killed for meat, for skin, for fur. The forests are cut down. Our factories put their waste materials into water and atmosphere and pollute the environment.
Kazakhstan has many ecological problems: the Aral sea is dying, the Caspian sea is filled with poison, radiation, global warming, acid rains. It is not good for health of people. Many people died.
Our environment must be clean. We have to control atmosphere and water pollution, to study the man’s influence on the climate. The people all over the world must do everything to protect their nature, to make their country richer, to make their life happier.
Education in Kazakhstan
The development of the nation, its prosperity and wealth depend on the people's education. The government of our country has a programme of reforming the system of education in our Republic. The top priority in the government actions is basic education which is compulsory for all children. The main purpose of compulsory education is to involve all children into schools.
Educational system in Kazakhstan is conducted in two languages - Kazakh and Russian. Children start school at the age 7 and finish at 17. The first stage of education in Kazakhstan is primary school for grades one through four. The second is secondary school for middle grade from five through nine. After that the children have the right to choose - to continue their education in the school to the 11 th form or to leave it. They may continue their education in the vocational or technical colleges. After finishing school teenagers can enter universities by their choice and by their results of final examinations.
As for me , I decided .......
I have got a flat. It is big (small).
My flat has two ( --) rooms, a kitchen , a bathroom and a corridor.
Our living room is big. It is light. I like our living room and I often spend my free time watching TV and reading books. There is a sofa, two arm-chairs, a table, a TV set in the living room.
There are some pictures of modern painters on the wall.
I have my own room. It is small.
There is a bed on the right. There are two chairs at the desk and a TV set in the corner of the room. When my friends come to see me I invite them into my room. I like my room very much.
Our kitchen is big and comfortable. A new refrigerator stands near the window. We usually have breakfast and supper in the kitchen.
The bathroom is small. You can see a washing- machine near the door.
The corridor in our flat is long and narrow. There is a telephone in it.
I like my flat.
Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among young and old people.
Many people do morning exercises, train themselves in clubs in different sections and take part in sport competitions.
Other people like sports too, but they only watch sport games, listen to sport news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsman. But they don't go in for sports.
Physical training is an important subject at school. We have got physical training lessons twice a week. We play volley-ball and basketball at the lessons.
There is a sportsground near our school and we go in for sports in the open air.
A lot of different competitions are held at school, a great number of pupils take part in them.
Sport helps people to keep in good health. If you go in for sports, you have good health and don't catch cold.
There are some popular kinds of sport in our country: volley-ball, football, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating, running, jumping and others.
My favourite sport is swimming. I go to the swimming-pool twice a week. I prefer to rest by the lake or the river and swim there.
